There could be a restriction in the intake air box or the exhaust (or both). The vehicle may need to be re-jetted (carb) after the restriction is removed. Years ago I picked up 7 mph on a moped by just removing the baffle in the air box. No re-jetting was required however the noise level did increase. Also, there could be restricters in the muffler that can either be removed, or have holes drilled in them.
You can do a google search of removing moped muffler restricters (not necessarily exact keywords) and you can also find a nice performance air filter to replace the existing air filter, which may be very big, and bulky, most likely blocking a lot of air flow, which will give you more power. These are the simplest ways to increase power without serious modification.
Piaggio Zip files allows one to email or send multiple files (for example, pictures) in one file and then the recipient can open the zip file and unpack all of the files.
If you want to go very fast, buy yourself a speed kit. Be aware of your state laws though, laws change when the definition of a moped (no more than 30mph and 50cc) changes. And removing your baffle will probably violate certain noise ordinances.

Don't listen to him! I have a boation, under your seat there is the compartment for your carb, well if you look at where the cable goes round the little reel type thing there is a little screw simply stopping your throttle cable pulling as mu ch as it could, 50% / 70%, somthing like that, if your brave take it out, you WILL be impressed. All of the above is nonsence the way to tune/derestict your baotian is simple. First you should open the hatch at the bottom of your seat there you will find the carb remove the cap but be careful of the spring, remove the rubber seal which should be attached to a hard piece of plastic with a needle on using a small screwdriver undo the screw holding in the needle, on top of the needle there is a small threaded bit with a washer on simply move the washer up the thread to increase the fuel flux. Secondly at the front of the air box is your air intake tube with a small pipe coming off of it leading to the exhaust or manifold simply cable tie the tube to the frame but not to tight this will increase air intake. Thirdly drill ten 4 mm holes on the air box any way you want this will also increase air intake and acceleration and last of all the hardest one, remove the belt drive case and using an air compressor gun remove the nut on the left pulley/variator remove the variator and behind it should be one or two washers remove one if ther is two and remove it if there is only one then put your bike back together take it down a big hill and enjoy speeds of upto and around 65mph - 70mph with out spending any money.
You can find a picture of a piaggio and minarelli engine can be found on www.sip-scootershop.com, on the navigation bar click cat. Of spareparts and then 50-90cc, then choose manufacturor and model and you will have a detailed plan of both engines, transmission and cylinders and crankshaft.
Many th anks tom webb. Many thanks tom webb. Remove the Carb from the back of the engine usually the Air filter is placed to it, then make sure fuel line is turned off and no fuel left in the carb by un screwing the small screw on it. Then un do the 4 bolts with an Allen key size 4 or 5 some differ, then undo the throttle cable and any other c ables to it. To Derestrict the mini moto undo the tread on the carb and any other threads then u come to a very brittle bronze pin- Becareful with this dnt brake it, take the split link off from around the bronze pin dnt snap it, the drop it dwn one place from where it wasthere are about 4 notches on the bronze pin put it on the 3rd one it should already be on the second this will give short accleration but hugher top end, place back together and your away thanks for reading Getlowgetlaid.
The carburetors and carburetor kits we deliver have to fulfill basic quality requirements in order to guarantee problem free installation Individual fine tuning for each motor is up to every tuner to carry out. For optimal motor output, we recommend using both a larger manifold and racing air filter. Further, larger valves ensure higher power performance. In any case, reed flaps should be exchanged. The bottom of the line - a larger carburetor means a noticeable increase in rpm‘s, which means more power and higher top speeds. What more can you want? The 17,5mm carburetor is an optimal solution for standard tuning.
Carburetor montage is simple and your motor will thank your for installing the kit with more power. The original air filter can still be used with this carburetor, although a racing air filter will guarantee better induction, giving you even more power (carburetor will have to be realigned). For optimal performance, we recommend that you also change the manifold.
The choke system won‘t have to be changed. Sport Manifold, Sport Air Filter, Quick Action Twist Grip Jets and small parts for fine tuning. Producer/Model cc Type Engine Yr. Extra 50 2T LC `11 50 2T LC `07/03- 50 ZD4VFD00 2T LC `05-`14 50 PIAGGIO 2T LC Producer/Model cc Type Engine Yr.
